UTICA, N.Y. (February 17, 2026) – The Boilermaker Road Race has officially surpassed the halfway mark toward its 2026 cap in the Boilermaker 15K presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, with more than 5,500 of the allotted 11,000 spots already claimed. Registration for the 5K presented by Utica National is also moving steadily, with over 1,300 runners of 4,500 entries secured. The 15K and 5K have reached 45% of their overall cap.
“This pace speaks volumes about the enthusiasm and loyalty of the Boilermaker community,” said Boilermaker President Mark Donovan. “Each year we see strong early commitment, but reaching this milestone well ahead of spring reinforces the unique position the Boilermaker holds in the industry.”
Both race distances sold out ahead of race week in 2025. With fifteen thousand five hundred plus participants expected across the two distances in 2026, organizers anticipate continued steady momentum in the months ahead. Importantly, those who register for this year’s Boilermaker will also gain priority registration status for the Boilermaker’s 50th anniversary race scheduled for 2027.
Runners interested in securing their spot are encouraged to register soon, as both races remain on pace to reach capacity. Registration for the Utica National Kids’ Run and Boilermaker Walk will open up later in the spring. For more information or to register, visit boilermaker.com.
