Boilermaker Road Race Presents Check to United Way
Sep. 23, 2010
UTICA, NY (September 23, 2010)- Each year the Boilermaker Expo features a pasta dinner where runners can carb-up before race day, with all proceeds going to benefit the local United Way. This year's dinner offered attendees a variety of pastas and sauces, as well as salad, bread, dessert, and beverages. Thanks to all those who came out and supported this great cause, this was one of the most successful pasta dinners ever, with over $4,000 being raised for the United Way.
"The Boilermaker Road Race and everything that surrounds it is an amazing occasion for our community," said Susan Woods, United Way Director of Marketing and Communications. "United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area is very proud to be aligned with this event through the annual Boilermaker Pasta Dinner. Every year we have the chance to renew our relationships with runners and families from across the country and around the world. Sharing good times over great food is as integral to our community as the race. We appreciate the support of all of the volunteers and the event sponsors, Masonic Care Community, Sodexho, and the Boilermaker Road Race who made the dinner and this contribution possible."
