The Stanley Theatre to host Boilermaker Concert
Jun. 11, 2015
Get ready to 'Loosen up before you lace em up!' Boilermaker runners, families, volunteers and the entire community will have a special event again this year on the Saturday night (July 11th) before the big race. For the second year in a row, the legendary, Mohawk Valley based, 10-piece powerhouse band Classified will headline a special Boilermaker concert. This is becoming an annual event to look forward to, as last year's concert was a great addition to the Boilermaker weekend schedule. Joining the line-up this year along with Classified is the Utica Pops Orchestra and the Holy Cross Academy Student Choir from Oneida. It's an opportunity to showcase the musical talent of our area and also help raise funds for The Stanley Theatre in Utica.
Tim Reed, Director of The Boilermaker was very enthusiastic about sponsoring this concert 'We had such a successful event last year with Classified at The Stanley, we knew our runners and guests would love the opportunity to do it again, and we've added a few new twists this year'. The concert will run from 6 p.m. until just after 8 p.m., which gives runners and their families plenty of time to enjoy the show and rest-up before the Sunday morning race. 'This is great entertainment for the entire family and we're excited to be able to open the doors to our beautiful historic Stanley Theatre to everyone including any visitors from out of town. With three participating music groups, this will be a showcase night of variety, something for everyone!' said Jerry Kraus, the Stanley's Executive Director.
Reserve seat tickets for this Boilermaker Concert are now on sale with prices ranging from $15-$40. There are discounts for Boilermaker participants, active military and Stanley members.
