Race Reveals Registration Process/2016 Race Logo
Nov. 25, 2015
Officials with the Boilermaker Road Race announced the dates of the opening of registrations for the 2016 Boilermaker.
This year, the race has once again partnered with RunSignUp for their registration. Along with staying with the same registration company, the race is also continuing with the multi-tiered registration process.
Runners who were granted a deferral last year can register starting at noon on Thursday March 10th. They will have eight days to sign up. Deferral Registration will close at noon on March 18th.
Next registration to open will be for Early Access Runners. An Early Access Runner is any official finisher of last year's races who finished in the allotted time limit. Early Access Registration will open at noon on Thursday March 10th and will close at noon on March 18th.
Open registration will start at noon on Saturday March 19th and will close once the cap is reached for each race. "The system worked well last year, and we feel that this is the best way to take care of all of our loyal participants," said Jim Stasaitis, Boilermaker Race Director.
Once again this year there will be a Wait List. If a runner gets closed out of the race they can opt in to be placed on a Wait List. If a spot opens up in the race, the first runner on the list will be notified. They will have 48 hours to respond, (register). If they don't respond within the time frame, the next runner on the list will be notified.
More details can be found on the Boilermaker website, www.boilermaker.com.
Race cap numbers will remain the same as in the 2015 races: 14,000 for the 15K, 4,500 for the 5K and 1,000 for the 3 Mile Walk.
The 2016 Boilermaker logo was unveiled. The inspiration for the logo was from Boilermaker Merchandise Director, Jim Raymer. "After a two year hiatus, the running man is back! He's been working out and he's ready to run."" said Raymer.
The 39th running of the Boilermaker Road Race will take place on Sunday July 10, 2016.
