Jan. 11, 2016
The Boilermaker Road Race Committee has announced that they will once again offer the Charity Bib Program during the 2016 race to not-for-profit agencies in Central New York that meet the requirements and best match the mission of wellness in the community. The Charity Bib Program registration will open March 7, 2016, prior to advanced and open registration.
Since 2013, the program has raised over $400,000 for not for profits throughout the Mohawk Valley and Central New York.
In 2016, ten organizations will be chosen from the pool of applicants to take part. This year 125 bibs will be distributed to the various Charity Bib partners. Agencies may request a maximum total of 25 bibs, but how many they will be awarded will be at the discretion of the Charity Bib committee.
Quadsimia Internet Services, will be supporting Boilermaker Charity Bib at no charge meaning 100% of funds go directly to agencies. "We are so excited to be supporting the Charity Bib program again," said Mike Spina president of Quadsimia "The first year we were involved we didn't know what to expect, but after hearing all of the great stories from the runners as well as the charities we jumped at the chance to be involved again this year."
Not-for-profit agencies in Central New York interested in participating in the 2016 Boilermaker Charity Bib Program should email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications will be due on January 22, 2016.
Final selection of agencies will take place on February 5, 2016 and be announced to the public at that time.
"We are excited to once again work with fellow not-for profits to make our communities healthier places" said Tim Reed, president of the Boilermaker Road Race.
The 39th running of the Boilermaker Road Race will take place Sunday, July 10, 2016.
