Boilermaker Road Race Announces New Hire
Oct. 5, 2016
The Boilermaker Road Race is pleased to welcome to the team Jordan Peters as a Sponsor and Marketing Specialist. A 2006 graduate of New Hartford High School, Jordan played hockey for the Spartans for four years before going to Syracuse University, where he was a member of the men's hockey team.
After earning his undergraduate degree in English in 2010, Jordan returned to the Utica area and briefly interned with my Hometown Sports and served as a sideline correspondent for WIBX's Friday Night Lights coverage of high school football. For the past five years, Jordan has served as an Assistant Director with Syracuse University Recreation Services. In this capacity, he oversaw the programming and operations of the Tennity Ice Pavilion. He earned his master's degree in Sport Venue and Event Management from Syracuse in the spring of 2016. During his graduate program, Jordan also gained experience with the Syracuse University and Le Moyne College athletics departments where he assisted with various aspects of marketing, sponsorship, and development initiatives.
Before calling the Boilermaker his employer, Jordan participated in the race many times as both a 15k runner and water station volunteer. Jordan is excited to return to his home town and be a part of, what he considers, "the premier sporting and social event and greatest agent for wellness in Utica."
"We are excited to have Jordan join the Boilermaker team said Tim Reed, president of the Boilermaker Road Race. "His professionalism and attention to detail will certainly help tell 'the Boilermaker story' to current and potential sponsors."
