Now that you’re registered, we have the resources to make this year your best Boilermaker yet!

Supported Training Run

Incorporating a race in your training can be a great strategy, allowing you to practice your morning routine, fueling, hydrating on course, and more. Plus, it provides a change of scenery for one of your long runs!

The Boilermaker’s Erie Canal Races event offers 5K, 5-mile (as part of the relay), and 10-mile distance options, all run along the flat and scenic Erie Canal Trail with a fast finish on the track at Whitesboro High School.

Register early to guarantee a t-shirt, plus receive a finisher’s medal, hot coffee and food post-race, medals for the top three in each age group, and more!

As a Boilermaker participant, you can use code BMECR24 to save on your registration through April 15.

Training Plans

These free training plans come from the brilliant minds of the coaches over at The Sneaker Store who know first-hand just how exciting (and humbling) the course can be.

We have several training plan options depending on which race you’re running and your starting point:

15K Training Plans – All Start 4/22/24

  • 12-Week Beginner: running occasionally (between 10-15 miles per week)
  • 12-Week Intermediate: running consistently (between 15-25 miles per week)
  • 12-Week Advanced: running consistently and/or looking to hit a faster time (25+ miles per week)

5K Training Plan – Starts 4/22/24 (Intermediate) or 5/6/24 (Beginner)

  • 10-Week Run/Walk: for those looking to complete their first 5K but aren’t sure where to start
  • 12-Week Intermediate: for those with a stronger base (running 15-25 miles per week) who want to PR their 5K

If you’re starting later than the plan’s start date, be prepared to adjust and listen to how your body is feeling. Remember: one day doesn’t make or break your training. Keep the big picture in mind and get to the start line healthy!
