We’ve joined forces with the New York State Department of Transportation to create a dedicated drop-off lane on Route 5S eastbound to enable runners to be dropped off safely without disrupting the flow of traffic.
The map below illustrates the drop-off lane that will be available. The right lane of Route 5S east will be coned off; the left lane will be reserved for through traffic. Drivers dropping runners off will follow signage and pull into the right lane into the coned-off area. Once the runner exits the vehicle, the driver will continue to the end of the drop-off chute to rejoin traffic on Route 5S.
As a part of this effort, the Culver Ave. ramp off of Route 5S (both eastbound and westbound) will be closed. The Turner Street exit will also be closed to all vehicles except charter and shuttle buses. Drivers looking to turn around will need to continue down Route 5S east to the Dyke Road exit.
